Emergency

In an actual emergency

Get out first. The roll call is there to help you account for people once you are at the assembly point, not to be filled in on the way.

Starting a roll call freezes the register. Every kiosk switches to the emergency screen and stops accepting sign-ins, so the list of who is on site cannot change while you are counting.

Running one

  1. Start the roll call from the Emergency page.
  2. Print the register if you want paper — it is worth having before you need it.
  3. Tick people off as they are accounted for. Several people can do this at once, on different devices, and everyone sees the same list.
  4. Add notes as you go — who was found where, anything the fire service needs.
  5. End the roll call when everybody is accounted for.

Ending it returns the kiosks to normal. The roll call itself is kept: who was on site, who was accounted for, when, and any notes.

Practise it

Anyone who can view the Emergency page can look at it outside an incident, so run one as part of a drill. The worst time to discover your register is wrong is when you need it.
