Connecting Microsoft Entra ID keeps your staff and pupil lists in step with your directory, so joiners and leavers look after themselves.
You will need an app registration in your Entra tenant with permission to read the groups you want to sync. The setup guide on the integration page walks through it step by step.
What syncs, and what does not
Entris reads the members of the staff and pupil groups you nominate. It writes nothing back to your directory. People removed from a group are marked inactive in Entris rather than deleted, so their history stays intact.
Purging is not undoable in place
Purging removes every person that came from Entra. Their visits and absences are kept, but after 30 days their personal details are permanently erased. Re-syncing before then brings them back; re-syncing afterwards creates new records.
